Review of ‘The Engine’ by the Acid City Nuns: A music not artificial.

The Acid City Nuns, have recently put out our sophomore album. “The Engine”. One of their complaints is that people are becoming “pixelated” all the time. They are sick of waiting for anything to happen. Read on to find out what I think of their album.

“The Engine takes you back to the road of nostalgia, giving the R&B/Pop vibes.”

With tracks like “Just Say So” and “If You’re Ever Lonely” that evoke electro-pop urgency and tranquil sophistic-pop nostalgia, Acid City Nuns’ second album, The Engine, combines retro appeal with future curiosity. An enjoyable listening experience awaits you on Acid City Nuns’, album, the Engine, which has both reflective instrumentals, such as the lounge-friendly jazz of “Time Alone” and the rich escapism accomplished via “Caribbean Dream” and captivating vocal-fronted pop composition. “Tabula Rasa (midnight)” glides into the late-night rhythm, providing a soothing mid-point table-setter that doesn’t have the hooky intensity of the previous attempts.  “Synthesis,” the album’s climax, combines spacey electronic futurism with vintage funk and succeeds with its atmospheric qualities and vocal-less production. A peaceful glittering with elements from sophistic-pop, soul, and funk characterizes “Faultless,” the album’s last track. Despite the lack of tonal range in the vocals and overall instrumentation, the poetry and shimmering keys create an enticing environment that is present throughout The Engine.

When you turn on the Engine, all that inventiveness comes roaring back, and it has no trouble at all dishing out the music you want, with all that brilliant variation. Catch the muse down here:
