Allen Kai-Lang Yu achieves a remarkable fusion of cinematic pop and classical elements via his training as a classical pianist. Allen collaborated with pianist Victor Morales to release his music after working in technology and law in Silicon Valley. He had always been writing music.

“The aural journey of “Winds of Change” is both moving and enduring.”
“One Shared Destiny” is a flawless classically based pop ballad that pianist and composer Allen Yu has written and performed, and it is a plea for global peace. Twelve songs make up the album, and they’re all really ethereal and lovely. Following the first, very beautiful “Whispers of the Wind,” which is thematically related to the album title, comes “Tango Fantasia,” a song that is somewhat more memorable than the opener. Next up are “Peoples and Traditions” and “A Fairy’s Tale,” which seem like they belong in an animated film from Disney, Pixar, or Dreamworks. To Yu’s beautiful piano music, I could easily see a narrative coming to life. The song “Cityscapes” is reminiscent of the compilations composed by the Chinese pianist Lang Lang. “Pastoral River” conjures images of verdant meadows and azure lakes with pristine water. Just like the name suggests, “A Joyful Ride” is an easygoing, carefree tune that is sure to make you laugh. You may fall asleep to the soothing melody of “A Mother’s Voice” lullaby. Compared to the first two tracks, “Foggy Bay” stands out due to its low tone. The peaceful tone of “A Spiritual Walk” makes it an intuitively pleasing piece. An infectiously danceable rhythm opens “Desert Gala,” and it only gets better as the song progresses. As a final note, “Leaves in the Wind” serves as an appropriate album closer.
