The music of composer Allen Yu (real name: Allen Kai-Lang Yu) reverberates with an exquisite grace that surpasses all expectations. Born in Taiwan, immigrated to USA, Allen Yu ended up being in South California.

“The aural journey of “Winds of Change” is both moving and enduring.”
As the album opens, “Whispers of the Wind” plays with such grace. It’s delicate, fluffy, jittery, and full of life. With all the tango’s power and the fantasia’s classical theatricality, “Tango Fantasia” is a winning combination. The delicate melody of a soul plays the opening notes of “Peoples and Traditions” gently. Even though it’s brief, “A Fairy’s Tale” manages to capture the essence of a dream. As far as jazz is concerned, “Cityscapes” is all very New York. Following the “Pastoral River” is like taking the back road to a better time. The upbeat and energetic “A Joyful Ride” is perfect for a sunny day. A lullaby of power and grace, “A Mother’s Voice” is both gentle and resolute. A desperate journey through the darkest hour, “Foggy Bay” is about finding freedom—not just the freedom to run away, but also the freedom to accept what is. “A Spiritual Walk” takes listeners on a relaxing journey where they are not required to do anything. An upbeat, soothing, and carefree waltz, “Desert Gala” is in a hurry. Despite its melancholy tone, “Leaves in the Wind” is an emotionally powerful album closer.
A thoughtfully selected collection of piano solos, “Winds of Change” conveys a wide range of feelings. Catch the muse down here:
