In 2019, Taisha Estrada and Don Potter formed Outerloop, a post-punk rock band famous for their spectacular live performances and innovative songs. Their music is amusing and thought-provoking because of the band members’ boundless vigour and combative demeanour.

“Huracán is a song of rebel, a voice of the people oppressed.”
“Huracán” is an intense music with harsh lyrics and a heavy truth: The problem of relocation on the island of Puerto Rico, with the hard-working people left with nothing. Lyrics in Spanish represent the voice of the oppressed, while those in English represent the voice of the indifferent oppressor in this multilingual composition. The single’s use of aggressive riffs and beats is entirely appropriate. It is meant to strike fear into the listener’s innermost soul with its show of rage and defiance. The electric guitar work is outstanding, shifting styles while never losing the music’s driving momentum; the drums are tight and authoritative. Taisha’s captivating performance, with her strong and alluring female vocals, has to be the highlight. Taisha maintains an unrelenting vigour throughout the song. Outerloop’s “huracán” is a must-listen for every post-punk enthusiast, as the song’s musical prowess and social message make it an instant classic.
We’re crossing our fingers that this song by Outerloop will help raise awareness about the heinous treatment of the people of Puerto Rico and inspire them to stand up to their avaricious rulers. Catch the muse down here:
