Born out of the Covid Lockdown, The Ruby Tears is an online collaboration between Manchester solo musician John Goodfellow and Liverpool guitarist and songwriter Jeff Skellon. Inspired by 60s, 70s rock, New Wave and 80s Post Punk, this collaboration has resulted in the genesis of 15 original songs and a cover version. Their music transports you to all the avant-garde essence of the bygone era. The band has 6 new tracks in store for their listeners in 2024.

“Learn to Fly poses a mirror onto your life journey. With every line, you feel your might.”
After a three-and-a-half-year journey into the world of music and post the release of 8 Eps and other singles, The Ruby Tears’ “Learn to Fly” is a significant departure from the band’s power pop and post-punk style. The makers contemplated its release but decided not to gatekeep it from their listeners anyway. The song is a testament to overcoming life’s challenges. Even the song was written during turbulent times. The rhythm casts a spell onto yourself and you look back at how far you have come.
