After already experiencing a blissful EP this year, we have yet again received another mesmerizing single from Wotts, “be kind,” with one foot in the irresistible rock world of the 90s and the other in the modern indie-pop realm. The Canadian artists went back to their DIY roots for this one, recording, producing, mixing, and mastering every sound on their own. This ethereal beauty serves as a bridge into their next musical chapter. Inspired heavily by 90s rock and contemporary music from that era, Wotts has molded an incredible sonic sculpture for “be kind.”

“Wotts’ soundtracks are introspective, well-crafted, and loaded with bits and elements of music that never fail to fascinate your mind and heart.”
“be kind” is a compilation of textured strokes of 90s rock and soul, blended together smoothly with shades of ambient synchronous music and avant-garde melodies.
Exploring the theme, the easy-going soundtrack revolves around the concept of letting go. It is about saying goodbye to the people you never had a chance to get closure with, those who slipped away from your grasp when you tried to hold on tighter (or vice versa).
The distorted, cinematic sound effects take the notes from higher to lower and lower to higher, creating a melody that sends your brain on an intoxicating trip amidst a 90s classic epistolary film. The experience is actually euphoric and addictive.
