A quirky sonic voyage into existential depths: Satanic Puppeteer Orchestra’s “Have an Existential Crisis”

Hailing from San Diego, Professor B Miller along with singing robot SPO-20 embarked on a quest to release 20 thematic album in 2018, taking you on a quirky musical voyage. “Have an Existential Crisis” is the latest addition to that.

“Give this introspective and experimental album a spin right away and I assure it’ll be sonic journey unlike anything you have ever experienced before.”

Although the album has 14 tracks, there are only 7 songs. 7 tracks feature human vocals and the other 7 have the signature robotic vocals. The album explores themes like alternate realities, the meaning of life, and parallel universes. A track that stood out for me was “Reboot the system” as it portrays an attempt to reboot our world as we know it and the failure that follows. “So Stuck” is a track that everyone will relate to as at some point or the other you might feel stuck in life, waiting to catch a break.

But my favourite has to be “Asking for a friend feat.Pat beers”, as he seeks the meaning of life, for a friend obviously. The album comes to an end with “Rhetorical Questions” which is a delight for the ear and perfectly concludes the album. Give this introspective and experimental album a spin right away and I assure it’ll be sonic journey unlike anything you have ever experienced before. Featuring guest vocalists such as Spencer Moody, Pall Jenkins and many others, as well as saxophones on multiple tracks by John Roy, this album is a must listen for everyone.
