Your favourite father son duo is back again with their latest single “Curiosity”, which marks their 25th release. They have been putting out a song almost every month since May 2021. Lukx’s Dad has been a drummer since the last 30 years dabbling into Disco, Funk. Soul and RnB. We had a chance to chat with Lukx and we got to know more about his creative process, the dynamic he shares with his dad, how they tackle creative differences and more.

1) Your music is a unique blend of Hip-Hop/Rap and Pop, with a mix of French and English lyrics. How did you come up with this distinctive fusion, and what inspired you to combine these genres?

-Very naturally, being Belgian and Swedish, speaking Swedish at home and french at school and learning English very young as well, I’ve always listened to music mostly in English so from the beginning I wanted to mix french and English in my lyrics. Both languages sounds different so it’s really fun to make them work together fluently

2) Being a father and son duo must have its own dynamic. Can you tell us about how this collaboration began and how it contributes to the creative process of your music?

-My dad have always had a studio at home since we were kids, when I started writing my first lyrics I asked him if he could make me a beat, here we are now letting our two generations blend to make a unique and authentic art piece

3) “Curiosity” is your 25th song since May 2021, and you’ve been consistently releasing music almost every month for two years. What drives this prolific output, and how do you manage to maintain both quality and quantity in your releases?

-We love making music and we want to express what we have in our guts, we do everything ourselves, my dad does the beat, mix and master, I write the lyrics, record, make the cover art and then the promotion, and then we do it all again cause consistency will make us evolve and grow.

4)Can you share some insights into how you navigate creative differences and find common ground during the songwriting and production process?

-Everything comes naturally by thinking about it more or less everyday, we inspire ourselves from the music we listen to, the life we live, the people we care about. When my dad does a new beat, he sends it to me so I can write some lyrics to give him future inspiration, and so do we until we have the song

5) Are there any other art forms or creative mediums (e.g., visual art, writing) that you find yourself drawn to or influenced by?

– I make a lot of videos beside music, I love being able to be creative for sharing my music through edits and cool compositions
