Immerse Yourself in the Sonic Odyssey of Arson Whales’ debut album ‘Galactopus’

Arson Whales is anindie rock band from Northern California, their debut album Galactopus is an eclectic fusion of genres. It’s opening track “Monkey Jar” sets the tone for the rest of the album with it’s quirky instrumentation that is a fusion of funky synths and psychedelic rock. It’s followed by “Upside Down” which has an ethereal instrumentation that offers a psychedelic listening experience.

“Linda Brancato’s enchanting vocals keep you hooked throughout the album along with profound lyrics that continue to blow your mind as the album progresses.”

A track that stood out for me was “Reverse The Rule” it drew me in with it’s soulful music but what made me stay was the quirky yet deep lyrics, all of this delivered in a breezy listening experience. After this “Zephyr & Sycophant” has you grooving to it’s funkadelic melodies. “Finding Betsy Dar” and “This Chimera” have a soothing melody that calms your mind instantly. But my favourite track has to be “Sonic Eclipse” for it’s hypnotic music and engaging lyrics. In the next track “Whales Fall”, drummer Stephen Linn has truly outdid himself. The album comes to an end with “Blackhole”. Every album on this song is a journey in itself, Linda Brancato has done an exceptional job on the vocals, her enchanting vocals keep you hooked throughout the album along with profound lyrics that continue to blow your mind as the album progresses. Embark on this mind-boggling journey and discover the world of Galactopus created by Arson Whales.
