We had came across Paytron Saint earlier this year in March, and were excited for their upcoming projects since then. Their latest album “Under Scary Houses” marks a crucial milestone for them as it showcases the evolution of their music since they started in 2017. In it’s 6 tracks the EP touches upon the feelings around family, self belief, parenthood, relationships and the concept of home.

“They had no deadlines and were also performing every song live, which gave them the opportunity to perfect it, and it shows in the impeccable production quality of this album.”
The album opens with “Blessed Be The Weight” which is the longest track on the album but perfect to get things started as it showcases what can be expected ahead. The third track is not a song but an interlude. The album resumes with the electrifying banger “Tommelise”, followed by the highlight of the album a cover of Hüsker Dü’s classic ‘Don’t Want To Know If You Are Lonely’, which features robust instrumentation making it my personal favourite. the album comes to an end with slow and soothing “Beautiful Repair”.
This time Paytron Saint produced all tracks themselves in their studio “The Chicken Coop”, which gave them complete creative control. They had no deadlines and were also performing every song live, which gave them the opportunity to perfect it, and it shows in the impeccable production quality of this album.
Currently on their biggest run of live shows, there’s no stopping Paytron Saint. Give their album a spin today.
