Crafting intricate, atmospheric delicacies, Matt Park aka Bite The Boxer, wins over people’s hearts and minds through his sonic skills. A dark, soulful tone and cinematic horror vocals make up his latest single ‘Rituals’, giving off a very unsettling vibe. Since 2020, Bite The Boxer has been making fluid-like harmonies going back and forth amongst a diverse range of genres including indie pop and rock, alt-pop, metal, trip-hop, and ambient lo-fi. Not only does his music symbolise hope but the twisted deep vocals give them a significant amount of character.

“The dark pulse of ‘Rituals’ injects a sense unsettling comfort into your veins.”
‘Rituals’ houses a dark-grey rhythm of punk pop and a synchronising eerie tone that lifts up the atmosphere of the track with thrill. The angelic satan-type vocals used in the production is a unique approach in the whole pop-metal world of sounds. The track opens into a slow percussive segment, soon joined by the opera-like vocal fragments and continuing into more terroring melody. As the entire aura of the track becomes gloomy and dark, a tint of hope and love cracks its way through the pit of nothingness.
‘Rituals’ does the work of gasoline for the metal-pop, post-punk fans fired up with energy and dopamine.
