The album’s opening track “(Once You Were A) Superstar” sets tone for what can be expected ahead from this album. The guitar solo is electrifying and the music of the track showcases Ultrasonic’s capability to create captivating tunes that keep you hooked throughout the song. This upbeat and electrifying track is followed by “She Said” which uplifts the mood of the listener with it’s soothing music and lyrics filled with vivid imagery. “She said” is like a breath of fresh air. It will restore your faith in yourself and assure you that things will fall into place, it’s liberating and a perfect song for a fresh start.

After this euphoric listening experience, Surfacing’s third and perhaps also my favourite track “Some kind of sympathy” gets you head banging from the get go, the impeccably layered instrumentation along with the riveting vocals soaring over the music make it a must listen. The lyricism is again where Ultrasonic Zebra never fails to deliver, I have never seen poetic devices so meticulously used ever before, this song is delight for the ears.

This refreshing album comes to an end with it’s closing track “Side of the Road”which will elevate you higher and inspire you to stay strong as it reignites your flame to be resilient and not lose hope even in times of adversity, The lines “Breaking down doesn’t break me down I’m facing the world head on” gave me goosebumps and strength to face the world. “Surfacing” explores so many themes of life with it’s every track, touching hearts of the listener with it’s relatable and inspiring lyrics and enchanting music. Ultrasonic Zebras are definitely a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait for what more they have got in store for us,
