‘Calliope Dreaming’ successfully builds an ethereal atmosphere for its listeners, it takes them on an immersive and emotionally impactful journey right from the first track, ‘The Fool And The Candle’ to ‘Volatile Cocktail’. All of the songs progress wonderfully and feel like chapters of the same story. One of the most painstakingly beautiful songs from this album is ‘Calliope Dreaming’, which lyrically explores the themes of loss, heartbreak, and missing someone. The vocals in this song and the rest of the songs as well are haunting and earnest. ‘In Reflection’ showcases a stunning piano piece that sounds like a masterpiece.
‘Calliope Dreaming’ concludes with the fact that it is a masterfully made album with great musicianship at work, sincere vocals, calculative arrangements, and poetic metaphors at play. This album is slow, expressive and impressive, it does not conform to this time and era, it stays true to itself and its creators. Fans of slow living and songs with an old jazz vibe would enjoy this album as it is an incredible piece of art.
