In 2020, the Austrian singer-songwriter Bernadette Dengler with Dutch drummer, composer, producer, songwriter Hans-Peter de Zeeuw formed a captivating duo Dee & d’Z, and started baking melodies together combining rock, jazz and pop music, embellishing it with their own unique sound-style.
Dee & d’Z’s latest single ‘E.N.E.R.GY’ speaks about how the human unwillingly keeps running in circles around the so-called rules inflicted upon by the society and feels caged in its own body. The artists try to explore more of the universal themes of life rather than the age-old tales of love and pain. The artist made their debut in 2022 with ‘FLOW’ which got nominated for Best Song of The Year 2022.

The track ‘E.N.E.R.GY’ is a concoction of jazz and pop with some ravishing elements of music. The symphonic fragment of the track is created by synchronizing various instruments together including drums, basses, trumpet, saxophone, percussion, trombone and electric guitar, showcased in the official video uploaded on YouTube by the artists. The lyrics ‘You can try to put me away, But you’ll never ever break me down’ screams with suppressed feeling of the wait to be free yet never being totally controlled by the universe.
