Michael had a near-death experience five years ago when they were diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, caused by a tumour in their intestines that had burst. While in the hospital, uncertain of their survival, they wrote these lyrics for their two daughters. The lyrics were meant to convey the message that even if he didn’t survive, he would always be there for their daughters in some way, and that his daughters were never alone.
“That Will Be Me ” reflects Michael Peloso’s accomplishment as an independent songwriter. He covers a wide range of topics in his music that listeners would recognise and find inspirational. Michael, a stage 4 cancer patient who overcame, has demonstrated his right to freedom of expression. I must say, that’s simply fantastic.
