Inkakai is a relatively new band that is already making waves in the music industry with their unique sound and style. Founded in 2021 by singer/songwriter Caleb Daniel Lit, Inkakai consists of professional musicians from Finland, Japan, and the United States. The band is known for their anonymous and enigmatic persona, with the Japanese-American members donning black katanas, masks, and hooded clothing with red fire symbols. This is in keeping with their vision of representing the meaning of their new name, Inkakai, which translates to “shadow, fire, society.” The band’s focus on music over individual members is also reflected in their choice to remain anonymous.

“Sometimes we must let ourselves drown in the depths of emotion to truly find our way back to the surface.”
The incredibly compelling masterwork “Drown” by Inkakai showcases the group’s extraordinary talent for masterfully fusing several genres and styles into a single, mesmerising sound. Triangle’s heavenly vocals complement the track’s lovely opening and establish the mood for the entire composition. As the song goes on, Cube’s clever use of noises and samples creates a spooky atmosphere that is expertly balanced by Circle and Gem’s energetic rhythm section. Dot and Line’s sophisticated string arrangements offer an extra layer of elegance to the track, enhancing its overall complexity and richness. The end product is a bright and captivating soundscape with an astounding amount of texture.
This is surely a track to be explored! Do give it a go, you will surely love this one!
