Gary Dranow and the Manic Emotions, a band based in Park City, UT is known for its timeless creations that will kick you back to the 80’s with its ecstatic sound. Gary Dranow was diagnosed with Bi-polar 1 with Mania in his late 40’s. He quotes – “I blew up three marriages and many relationships due to my over the top personality. It wasn’t until I moved to Park City and a Ski Racing buddy of mine referred me to his psychiatrist, Dr. Kalm (really his name. no joke), that I was put on the right cocktail of meds and I mellowed out tremendously. Before I was medicated, or just took lithium, I was hyper aggressive and often people would be put off by my demeanor. That all changed under the care of Dr. Kalm. Now I’m as calm as a lake without wind, very stable and now a genuinely nice, caring person.”

Gary recently released a single named “Mellow Drama” which is written and sung in the 3rd person from the point of view of Gary’s friends and partners. He beautifully portrays the complex emotions that his friends and the people around him might have felt, being around him. Acceptance is one of the hardest things for a person and accepting your flaws is what helps you evolve as a person.

This track packs some amazing guitar riffs that will leave you astounded and make your heart melt. The way this artist has put such intricate emotions into his track is truly inspirational.
